Our coaching style brings together business, life and soul coaching. Our philosophy is that its not enough to just work on your business. Quite often the reasons you aren’t doing something is either because of a lack of belief, a lack of self-confidence or simply because it’s a totally new area to you. So, we bring to our coaching groups our knowledge and experience of running businesses, of having a busy practice and of how to get the best out of you so that you can do what you love doing – working with clients. Coaching is about allowing you to grow as a person, as an individual and a business owner but also as a therapist yourself. Working through areas where you might self-sabotage, or not feel confident, giving you goals and support to work on them will empower you to take the next steps to grow your business. Be it putting yourself out there, increasing your online presence, doing a talk, working within boundaries we’re here to support you and to help you grow. Coaching in a group gives you accountability, support, friendship and other thoughts and opinions to consider.
That’s absolutely fine, we’re more than willing to work with you on an individual basis but you might find that our mentoring programme suits you better.
- Help in organising your thoughts and targeting areas which need working on;
- Creating a practical and effective plan of action to target those areas;
- Prioritising goals and tasks;
- Being accountable for following through and completing those goals;
- Maintaining motivation, even when you feel like you’re climbing your own mountain you have our full support;
- Understanding how self-sabotage and how to change it.
To put it simply, no. Coaching isn’t about us giving you advice, it’s about giving you the insight to find your own way, your own advice. Coaching is about growth, not dictation. We don’t give you the answers because you already know them, you just need to be able to access them and that’s where we come in.
- How to know if you’re in the right business
- Creating and maintaining healthy boundaries both with yourself and with your clients
- How to increase your client numbers
- Finances, both cash flow, profits, investments in your business, making and taking payments. Bad debts and invoicing.
- Exploring internet marketing and building an online presence safely
- How to balance the demands of being self-employed with a personal life
- Creating a vision that’s actually achievable.
- Focus, purpose and a plan of action.
We plan our sessions at the same time each month so that you can diarise them well in advance. Whilst we discuss the same topics with each coaching group we’re sure you’ll appreciate that each session will differ due to the different needs and dynamics of each group. Therefore sadly it’s not practical to sway between groups so we ask that you commit to the 6 monthly sessions to get the most out of your investment. Wherever possible we will aim to record the sessions and make them available to you.
Our 6 group sessions currently are on the first Monday of each month at 10am. Our next group commences on Monday 7th January 2019.
You can, of course cancel prior to our group sessions commencing, we simply ask for all cancellations to have been made up to 7 business days prior to our first session. Once the sessions commence we ask for your full commitment. If for some reason you do change your mind, or feel we are not fulfilling our obligations please talk to us about the problem and we’ll do our best to sort it out. Once the sessions have commenced they are not cancellable.
We have three categories of clients.
- The first is a therapist/coach who already has a business and is looking to expand into new areas or to grow their business further;
- The second is just getting started in their new therapy/coaching business and is looking for support and guidance;
- The third is either a new or established therapist/coach dealing with questions as to whether this is the right path for them and possibly (for more established clients) dealing with burn out.
All three are important to us, but so that we can provide you with the best service possible we may suggest one-to-one mentoring rather than group coaching is more appropriate.
You have continual access to our private facebook group for continued support and for you to brainstorm or ask questions.
We run a number of webinars during the year which you are welcome to attend, and if you sign up to our newsletter you’ll get advance notice of each one.
You always have the option of one-to-one mentoring if you feel you need additional guidance or support to deal with a problem or one-off issue.
We don’t desert you once your sessions are over. Our aim is to provide a supportive place for therapists and coaches to come and be themselves – whatever the current problem is.
Of course you can, in fact we ask that we have a 20 minute sit down over Zoom and have a get to know you chat. That way we can be sure that you will benefit from working with us, and you can know who you’ll be working with and that we can help you. We can give you honest feedback and a quick assessment within that time, and if we feel that coaching is not the way to go then we’ll tell you. No hard sell here at all.
Good question. Simply Mentoring is a professional relationship in which a person with the relevant experience and expertise counsels, guides and helps another person to grow professionally and individually. It’s essentially about learning, about helping you to help yourself. Each session is fully focused on you and your business needs at that time. We ask that you complete a pre-session brief questionnaire so that we make the most of our time together.
Coaching is usually based around performance and tasks. Goals are formed to facilitate growth of confidence and measure business and personal growth.
Mentoring works on an individual basis where we help you to discover your own wisdom by working in depth through the issues that you have. You set your own goals. It’s much more than simply giving advice, or passing on knowledge about a specific situation. Its about a relationship of trust, motivation and empowerment. It’s you identifying your own issues and goals, and working together to find ways of resolving them or reaching the goals. It’s not ‘this is how I did it’ but an understanding of the different approaches you could take and what would work for you.
Admittedly its not always easy to distinguish between the two. A good coach will have the same gifts and talents as a good mentor. The difference here is individuality versus group and the fact that an hour spent personally on you and your business is more in depth than an hour spent in a group situation.
That really depends on what issues you are dealing with at the moment. But mentoring itself can deal with any issues on any level. From self-awareness (how do others see me? What are my strong points? What do I need to improve?) to questions about career paths, to vision and strategy. Thinking about adding new skills or changing your pathway? How about boundaries and difficult conversations? Situations and feedback on how you handled them. Challenging clients and questions around how to handle them.
Ideally mentoring is a commitment to work together to further you and your business. However, our mentoring differs from the usual in-house business mentoring in that we recognise as a self-employed person you may just need an occasional helping hand. So, whilst we offer a mentoring programme we also offer one-to-one ‘occasional need’ based mentoring.
Mentors are becoming recognised at all levels of business as a valuable resources because we :
- Act as an impartial sounding board
- Create valuable space and time for you to ‘stand back’ and review where you are now, where you want to get to, and how best to get there
- Contribute viewpoints, advice, and information from our own knowledge, experience and expertise
- Assist you to achieve changes and goals to enhance your professional and personal life.
We get it. We’ve been there too. And we could give you the scary statistics about the cost of burn out, or about fear holding you back from doing something you’d love. But, we don’t like fear based selling, or hard sell. So, we’ll simply ask you – are you heading where you want to be? Are you stopping yourself from being the best you can be and if so how are you going to move past this? Can you resolve these things yourself?
Then think about how much we can do in a session, and how valuable those insights will be for you to help you move forwards. And if that seems like value for money then we’re here to help. If not, then honestly you’re probably not ready for committed mentoring yet.
The honest answer to this is it really depends on what you are looking to achieve.
Our group coaching programme will help you with setting goals, accountability, support and a way of gently helping you move forwards towards growing both yourself and your business.
Our mentoring will give you a personal, in-depth one-to-one opportunity to bring your issues to the table to be worked on. Again, with full accountability and support.
Our retreat takes place over a weekend and gives you the chance to fully immerse yourself in developing your brand and coming up with an achievable marketing plan. (Our next retreat takes place on April 5,6,7. 2019). You might find that the retreat would suit your requirements as opposed to a 6 monthly programme if you’re more concerned with marketing your business. If you’re really looking to grow your business you may benefit from doing both.
Yes the majority are although we do occasionally hold Therapist Days and in house courses at our location in North Yorkshire. Our first online courses will be available for you in the new year, with new ones to follow at a later date.
The largest and most in-depth of our courses will be known as our signature course covering a variety of subjects related to business organization. It will include areas for you to work on in your own time and enabling you to relate it specifically to your business.
Where our online courses give you accreditation as a Therapist or Coach they will come with an accreditation awarded by a professional body such as CThA. We are affiliates of a recent awarding body, ThinkTree Hub and it may be that some of our courses are certified through them. Some of our courses may however be for growth of knowledge in which case they will have CPD points or a certificate of ongoing learning. Each course description will give you information as to what you will receive on completion of the course.
Most of our online courses are self-study with videos and workbooks. With that in mind we keep the costs to you as low as possible. Most courses will be payment in full, from time to time we may offer an instalment package and should you wish to be notified of this the best course of action is to sign up to our newsletter as details of new and upcoming courses and any special offers will be detailed there first.
The Aromatherapy guide to exams is purely as a revision and study support guide to some of the major examination boards such as ITEC.
It gives simple and suggested ways in which to become familiar with Aromatherapy word definitions and basic chemistry. These are often topics that students find difficult to assimilate and explain in words to convey to an examiner their underpinning knowledge.
It contains space for your own notes and word tests.
We include a check and tick list for the things you will be required to take to your exam.
This is not intended to replace your colleges information but to support you with your learning. It is also not a qualification and the information included is copyright.
Whenever you think about buying something or working with someone what’s the first thing you do? Usually it’s check them out online, have a look at their website and get a feel for who they are. How often do you find that their website doesn’t even begin to represent their true essence? That their image is not in alignment with their message? And then this attracts the wrong clients? Having a professional makeup artist and hairstylist will ensure you look your best for the camera, and our Photographer Mark is so easy to work with that any anxieties you might have will soon disappear. You’ll have a selection of professional but natural looking photographs to use on your website and promotional literature. Selfies are great for quick Instagram posts but a professional shot speaks volumes.
We could run a single day photo shoot with a coaching programme. However we feel that 2 days of deep immersion in your dream business will bring out ideas and thoughts you haven’t yet discovered. By taking action and working in a supportive environment you can brainstorm, find your heart space and really connect with your business. No distractions, no trying to remember what we’d last discussed, full immersion in building your dream brand.
Our retreats differ from the more usual relaxing Yoga retreats in that we are creating time for you to work on your business. We have searched for a stunning venue, fully catered for so that you can be sure you’ll be completely looked after whilst you work on building your future business.
The only requirements are for you to be there.
You will be guided, listened to and working with like-minded women. By doing this you will be motivated, energised and inspired. It’s time for you to fall in love with your business.
To truly get the best from the weekend we don’t fill every minute talking to you. You’ll have plenty of head and heart space time to connect in with your dream business, identify your ideal client and build your perfect brand.
Lots of support, laughter, inspiration, ‘yes’ moments, good food, beautiful surroundings, professionals who are the best at what they do, a sauna and a bar for evening ‘down time’. Our deepest hope is that you leave loving your business, inspired by your dreams and with new friends.
Our intention is to offer 2 Be your Own Brand retreats each year, in the Spring and Autumn, however as the spaces are limited we obviously cannot guarantee future availability.
